Karen Kay
Vaughn
October 19, 1959 – December 7, 2021
Karen Kay Vaughn, 62, of Sherman, Texas, passed away on December 7, 2021
Karen was born on October 19, 1959, to Dudley and Johnnie Foster in Dallas, Texas.
In 1974, Karen and Billy Joe met, and they wed in Dallas, Texas May 12, 1977. They went on to have three children, William, Amber, and Billy Vaughn, III. As well as being a loving mother she was also a supportive military wife. Karen and Bill were married for just over 44 years.
Karen was passionate about reading and when she wasn't filling her home with warmth and kindness, she could be found in her chair reading with a cup of coffee. Family came first and was above all else to Karen, a value she instilled in all those around her. She will long be remembered and treasured as a mother and passionate grandmother not only to her children but to the friends of her children and her many nieces and nephews. The hole left by her absence is impossible to fill.
Karen is survived by her husband, Billy Joe Vaughn, Jr. and her children; William Vaughn and his wife Amy Vaughn, her daughter Amber Vaughn, and her youngest son Billy Joe Vaughn, III. Karen was an amazing grandmother to Azlyn, Quinlan, Naeco, and Dakota Vaughn, as well as Riley, Ainsley, and Bryce Marter. Karen is also survived by her sisters Elizabeth Foster and Dena Brock.
Karen was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Catherine Lynn.
There will be a private memorial held for family and friends to celebrate her life.
