Karma Jean Shadic, 83 years old, of Sherman, TX, formerly of Marion, LA, passed away Friday, January 17th, 2025, in Sherman.
Karma Jean was born July 5th, 1941, in Bastrop, LA. Her parents were Jesse W. and Bernice B. (Baker) Reppond. She was a graduate of Marion High School in Marion, LA. On April 20th, 1962, she married John H. Shadic, in Marion.
She was a long-time member of Dean Baptist Church in Marion. Over the years, she volunteered there, serving the church in several different roles.
Karma Jean enjoyed crocheting and gardening in her spare time.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Jesse and Bernice Reppond, husband, John Shadic, daughter, Linda Shadic, and six brothers, Clint, Houston, Huey, Jimmy, John and Corburt.
Karma Jean is survived by her son, Jackie Shadic and wife, Daphne of Sherman, TX; grandchildren, Jenny O'Pry and husband Rick of Lucas, TX, Jered Cunningham and wife Deborah of Carrizozo, NM, Leslie Maurin of San Antonio, TX, Laura Shadic and husband Troy of Haile, LA, eleven great-grandchildren, many extended family and friends in Texas and Louisiana.
The family will receive friends from 1 pm to 2 pm, on Thursday, January 23rd, at First Christian Church, 800 W Woodard, Denison, TX. A Celebration of Life service will follow at 2 pm, with Rev. Drew Svendsen officiating.
The family will receive friends from 1 pm to 2 pm, on Sunday, January 26 at Dean Baptist Church in Marion, Louisiana. A Celebration of Life service will follow at 2 pm, with Rev. Jed Rhodes officiating.
Burial will be at Dean Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family requests that memorial donations be made to First Christian Church of Denison, Dean Baptist Church of Marion, LA, or The Alzheimer's Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl. 17, Chicago, IL 60601.
