Katherine Jones Burfield-Andersen was born on November 5, 1943, in Lane Community, TX as the daughter of William Burk Jones and Rosalee Jones and passed from this life on September 15, 2023, in Denison, TX. She grew up and attended school in Sherman, TX.

She began her career at Castex Aluminum Foundry in Mesquite, TX. Kathy continued her employment with her love of sewing at Jarrell in Dallas, TX, and then at Bridal Seamstresses in Pittsburg, TX. Following was her employment at Pittsburg ISD, Anna ISD, and Gunter ISD. She received a five-year milestone award for continuous full-time employment at Pittsburg ISD, as well as Gunter ISD, where she eventually retired.

Her beauty showed inside and out as a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was enormously caring and an admirable example of love to her family, friends, and senior home neighbors. Birthdays and holidays spent with her friends and family were made exceptionally special by her presence alone. She enjoyed celebrating life by sewing as she was very talented. Cooking, baking, yard work, gardening, fishing, watching Wheel of Fortune, playing dominoes, reading, and fill-in crosswords were some of her favorite activities.

Kathy is survived by her sons Ricky (Roxan) Burfield, and Jimmy (Lorie) Burfield; daughter Sabra (Eddie) Mason; grandsons Jared, Justin, and Michael; granddaughters Victoria (Jake) and Meka, great-grandchildren Kayden, Xoie, River, Beckett, and Nash; brother Charlie (Janet) Jones; sisters Laura Faye Caldwell and Molly Jones; and many beloved nephews, nieces, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her children Danny, Jack, and Michael; brothers James, Wade, and Michael; grandson Danny; and parents.

A celebration of life will be held for Kathy at the West Hill Cemetery in Sherman, Texas on Saturday, October 7, 2023, at 1 PM. Reverend Brian Taylor will officiate.
