September 18, 1942 – February 11, 2018
Kenneth Aubrey Church went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, February 11 th , 2018. He was born September 18 th , 1942 in Nowata, Oklahoma and resided in Sherman, Texas since 1960. He married Donna Mae Smith on August 9 th , 1963 in Sherman.
Kenneth was an avid collector of Western memorabilia which derived from his love of Western films and television. He also had a passion for collecting classic die cast automobiles.
He lived his life according to the teachings within the Bible, which he read daily. He deeply enjoyed sharing these teachings and reciting scripture with others, both in times of need, as well as everyday conversations. Kenneth loved the Lord, his family and himself; a hierarchy that he lived his life by each day.
Kenneth is survived by his loving wife, Donna, of Sherman; two daughters, Shelly Hartsell and her husband Todd of Allen, TX, and Sherry Qualls and her husband John of Sherman; sister, Margaret Mayo of Seagoville, TX; brother, Tommy Church and his wife Sue of Wichita, KS; sister, Shirley Brown and her husband Tommy of Luella, TX; and three granddaughters which he adored above all else, Sydney Qualls of Sherman, Abbey Hartsell of Allen, TX, and Ashlyn Qualls of Sherman. "Pa" never missed any event that the "girls" participated in.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Ellen Church; brother, Johnie Allen, and in-laws, Don C. and Lela Mae Smith.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, February 15 th , at the First Christian Church in Denison, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Meals on Wheels, American Heart Association, American Diabetes or the Sherman Animal Shelter.
