Obituary

Kenneth Burton Gossage was born on November 26, 1933, in Los Angeles, California, to Maxine Gossage and Wiley Gossage. They later moved to Texas, where he graduated from high school in Eastland, TX, in 1952. After high school he attended Arlington State College and Navarro Jr. College. Ken was drafted into the Army shortly after college. He spent some time in Germany before honorably discharging and returning to Texas.

Ken was a true entrepreneur and leader. He and his father founded Gossage Pipe and Supply in 1954. By 1960 they sold the company to fund the purchase of Ken’s Conoco Gas Station in Corsicana, TX. Six years later he sold the station and started his career in the insurance business. It was during this time that he also met the love of his life, Jo. They married January 14, 1967, and built a beautiful life together, traveling on many leader trips due to his success, to places like Spain, Bahamas, Austria, and all over the United States. Ken retired in 1999 from his career in insurance, but would continue to help many, selling supplemental insurance until the past few years.

Ken was a faithful servant of the Lord and member of Trinity Baptist Church in Sherman, TX, where he served in various roles over the past 26 years. His love for the Lord was evident to all who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his father, Wiley Gossage; mother, Maxine Gossage; wife, Alta Jo Gossage; and daughter, Fredda Craig.
