Kenneth Eugene Mills was born March 2, 1948, in Maud, TX to Mabel and Hughie Mills.  They moved to Dallas, TX in 1955.  He graduated from Woodrow Willson High School in Dallas in 1966.  He served his country in the Army with the 18th Engineer Brigade from 1968 – 1970.  During his Vietnam tour 1968 – 1969 he was a General Chauffer for a Full Bird Colonel and a 1 Star Brigadier General.  He was employed with Southwestern Bell for 35 years, having retired in December of 2003.

Being an avid hunter and fisherman his entire life, Ken managed the Double JM Ranch in Bromide, OK from 2004 – 2013.  Having met his wife, Sue Mason Mills during that time, they married in November 2006 and continued to work there until their move to Leonard, TX in May of 2013.

Ken is preceded in death by his parents Mabel and Hughie Mills.

Ken is survived by his wife, Sue Mills of the home, one son, Bart Mills and wife Jamie of Dallas, TX; one daughter, Sharon Dyer and husband Tim of Littleton, CO; one brother, Jerry Mills and wife Janice of Coppell, TX; one sister, Marsha Edgar and husband Richard of Kansas City, MO; four grandchildren, Rachel Mills, Lucas Dyer, Erick Mills and Corbin Dyer; nieces, Denese Mills and daughters Tori and Serena; Brittany Buchanan and daughter Emily Buchanan.  A very special brother in Christ, Charles "Moose" Downs.  Ken also leaves behind a host of many In-Law relatives and close friends.

A graveside service with military honors will be held Friday, March 8th at Leonard Cemetery at 1:00 PM. Officiating will be Brian Taylor of Forest Avenue Baptist Church in Sherman.
