Services for LaFlora Rae Phillips 92 of Sherman, who died Friday, October 10, 2025, at Cedar Hollow Skilled Nursing Center, will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, October 17 at West Hill Cemetery. The Reverend Tommy Brandon of Calvary Church in Burleson, Texas will officiate.
Rae was born February 15, 1933, in Rayville, LA, the daughter of Alvin and Margaret Walker. She attended school in Sherman, TX and on September 5, 1952, she married William Leslie Phillips. Rae was a Bank teller in Sherman for many years, and she loved her job. It was at the bank where she met so many people and made so many friends. Most all of her life revolved around her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her joy was to have her family at her house which was always filled with love and laughter during the holidays. There were so many cherished memories made at her house. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother who was known to everyone as Memom.
She was preceded in death by her parents Alvin and Margaret Walker and husband Les Phillips.
Rae is survived by sons Mike Phillips from Sherman, David and wife Cyndi Phillips of Crowley, TX, Steve and wife Debra Phillips of Allen, TX, Sandra Phillips of Sherman, Grandchildren, Jennifer and husband Jason Vickers, Jill and husband Cullen Klingbail, Julie and husband Matt Burke, Lauren and husband Matt Engelking, Drew Phillips and friend Taylor Gattis, Lauren and Lindsey Dutton-Munoz, Walker, Logan and Emma Phillips; Great grandchildren Morgan and Spencer Stovall, Maci, Emersyn, Bentley, and Beckett Vickers, Kate and Cade Klingbail, Carsyn and Everett Burke, Noah, Shephard, Eliza, and Juni Engelking, Brooks Gattis, soon to be great great grandbaby Holland Stovall.
Pallbearers will be Drew Phillips, Walker Phillips, Logan Phillips, Matt Engelking, Jason Vickers and Cullen Klingbail
We would like to thank all the staff at Cedar Hollow, Emily Ball and her team from Centric Hospice for taking such good care of Memom during her stay at Cedar Hollow
