Larry Preston Morehead, age 77, of Sherman, Texas, was called home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at home with his family.

He was born on November 23, 1948, in Stillwater, Oklahoma, the son of the late Preston C. Morehead and Irmadine Casey.

After high school, he attended Oklahoma State University.  Throughout his career, he wore many hats, including businessman, salesman, entrepreneur, pilot, and small business owner. He achieved the difficult task of becoming a 32nd-degree Mason.  He was an avid drummer, and he enjoyed classic cars.  He was proud of his success as the owner and operator of Reliable Local Movers, which served the greater Sherman, Texas area for several decades.

He is survived by his eldest son and daughter-in-law, Preston N. and Charlie Morehead; his younger son and daughter-in-law, Ross and Jessica Morehead, from his first marriage to Deedee Morehead; and Diane Morehead of his second marriage. He is also survived by his step-daughter and son-in-law, Kristin and Ryan Dockery; seven grandchildren, Aubrie, Eli, Layne, Logan, Aubrey, Sage, and Cash; as well as many extended family members and close friends who will all miss him dearly.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at Fairview Baptist Church in Sherman, Texas. Visitation will precede the service from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. Rev. James Moore will officiate.

Burial will follow at Spencerville Cemetery in Spencerville, Oklahoma.
