Sherman- Funeral services for Lloyd Donald Beall will be Thursday, December 10, 2009 at 2:00 PM at Waldo Funeral Home with Dr. Mike Lawson of the First Baptist Church of Sherman officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be the members of the Keystone Bible Class from First Baptist Church. Private burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Bells, Texas. The family will receive friends at 1:00 pm prior to the service at the funeral home. Mr. Beall, 89, passed away Sunday, December 6, 2009 at Texoma Healthcare Center.
L.D. was born October 4, 1920 to the late Thomas Clifton and Lela Pearl Crouse Beall in Sherman, Texas. He attended school in Bells, TX. December 21, 1941 he enlisted in the Army Air Corp, serving in England, Africa and Italy during World War II. After returning from his military service he married Virginia Cordea ?Corky? Baxter in 1946. They moved to Decatur, Texas where L.D. attended Decatur Baptist College after being ordained as a Baptist minister.
L.D. owned an operated Beall's TV Antenna Service and several other small businesses that allowed him time to be available for his ministry. He pastored churches in Ivanho, Parker Grove, First Baptist Luella and he served 20 years as associate pastor at Crutchfield Heights Baptist Church. Mr. Beall was a longtime member of the Keystone Bible Class at First Baptist Church and a 50+ year member of the Masonic Lodge #117. He worked as an electrician at Austin College, retiring after 10 years. At this time he went to work in The Outlet Store for Knight's Furniture Company and worked there until 2008.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Cordea, his parents, brothers Thomas Clifton Beall Jr., Billy Beall, and Gordon Beall.
He is survived by his son Larry Beall and wife Nancy of Paris, TX; grandchildren Jonathan Beall and wife Cory, of Lewisville, Amy Bowman and husband Nathan of Denton, Laurie Beall of Lewisville; great-grandchildren Blake and Bae Bowman and Ethan and Aaron Beall. Also surviving are brothers Herman Beall of Plano, Bob Beall and wife Relda of Anna and a sister Beatrice Wheeler and her husband Haskell of McKinney, along with several nieces and nephews.
