Obituary

LeRoy Trott was born Sunday, June 15, 1930 in Adel, Iowa to Frederic and Pearl (Willis) Trott and went to his Heavenly home on Friday, April 29, 2016 at the age of 85.

LeRoy grew up in Baxter, Iowa and joined the U.S. Navy at the age of 17. He married the love of his life, Barbara Goodwin, on May 12, 1957 in San Diego, California. LeRoy was a veteran of the Korean and Vietnam wars retiring as a Chief Petty Officer after serving 20 years.

After retirement he began a second career working for LTV in Grand Prairie for a few years before coming to Sherman and worked for Texas Instruments for 20 years, retiring in 1989.

Mr. Trott was a dedicated member of the Parkview Church of Christ and worked as a custodian for many years. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who will be greatly missed. LeRoy was also a connoisseur for his love of plain M&Ms.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife, Barbara; oldest son, Charles; 2 sisters and 1 brother.

Mr. Trott is survived by his daughter, Pamela Brown and her husband Frank of Sherman, daughter-in-law, Lita Trott of Sherman, daughter, Teresa Davenport and her husband Doug of Denton, daughter, Alison Tesney and her husband Jeff of Sherman, son, Paul Trott and his wife Yoyo of Sherman; and daughter, Pattie Trott of Sherman; 19 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren; brothers, Jim Trott and wife Rose of Valdosta, GA, and Jerry Trott of Jacksonville, FL, sisters Dot Bennett and Betty Bell both of Valdosta, GA; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services to celebrate Mr. Trott's life will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, May 3, at Parkview Church of Christ with Welton Stoker officiating. Interment will follow at Cedar Cemetery in Luella with his grandsons serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends on Monday, May 2, from 6-8 PM at Waldo Funeral Home.
