IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Linda Sue
Griffin Jones
March 5, 1941 – January 17, 2024
Linda Sue Griffin Jones, born March 5th, 1941, entered into her eternal rest on January 17th, 2024, at Texoma Medical Center after a hard-fought battle with Leukemia. She was born in Sherman, TX to Leon and Irene Sawyer Griffin. Linda grew up in Sherman and graduated from Sherman High School in 1959.
Linda married Gerald Gene Jones on February 9th, 1968, and they were married for 45 years. Together they lived in many places. Early in life they managed apartment complexes together. Later in life they would work in multiple school districts in the metroplex and Grayson County as para educators with special needs children where they also drove school buses together for many years.
Linda enjoyed sports and could tell you anything about the Cowboys, Texas Rangers, and many other sports teams. She was always up to date on her stats. She loved getting out and going to do stuff and shopping at Dillards. She loved spending time with her family and later in life enjoyed going to "girls" night with her classmates from Sherman High. Her pride and joy were her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She was proud of all of them and bragged about them every chance she could.
Linda is survived by her children, Timothy Raidt (Teresa), Temperance Sims (Barry), Leslie Taylor (Jim), and Greg Jones (Naomi). Grandchildren, Linda Sue Raidt (Marlene), Lindsay Mulder (Andrew), Nicolas Jones (Blanca), Ashley Gutierrez (Mikey), Melissa Faulkner (Kyle), Lauren Pillen (David), Kaleb Rollins (Becca), Shae Rollins, Ayden Jones, Mason Jones, Scott Sofijczuk (Marie), and Jennifer Sofijczuk, her sisters Rosalind Burris, Mary Barham, baby brother Jerry Griffin (Sandra) and sister-in-law Nancy Jones. She had 12 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews that she dearly loved and had special bonds with.
Linda was preceded in death by her husband Gerald Gene Jones, parents, Leon and Irene Sawyer Griffin, mother and father-in-law, JR and Lois Curtis, and brother-in-law, Jesse Jones.
The family will have a private gathering at a later date to celebrate the life of Linda and the "legend" that she was. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Denison Animal Welfare Group as Linda was an avid pet lover.
