Linda Joyce Veazey Skinner
Linda was born in Sherman, Tx on October 20, 1946. Her parents were Wapolee Knight, Bill Veazey and Richard Pressley. She is preceded in death by her husband Jerry Skinner; brothers Billy Veazey, Richard Pressley, and Ernest Pressley; grandson Kenneth Wayne St Clair III; and her parents. She is survived by her daughters Susan Sweeney and husband Tony, Debra St Clair and husband Kenneth, Joann Stoeckert and husband Carl; son Darren Skinner; sister Alice Pressley Agee; grandchildren Kendra Collins and husband Taylor, Kenneth St Clair IV, and great-grand son Jasper Collins; extended family Cynthia Brown, Stoney White, Christopher Hull, Carlie Thompson, Peaches Meek.
Linda graduated from Sherman High School Class of 1965. She won multiple awards playing the tenor saxophone and was offered numerous scholarships including one from the US Airforce. Linda especially loved animals, and her beloved dogs were Casper, Ginger, Khan, and Prissy. Linda was first employed by the Tradewinds Restaurant where she met her husband Jerry, who was selling Kirby Vacuums at the time. She went on to work at Texas Instruments after graduating where she worked for thirty-six years. She loved her family and her friends, and her fish aquariums. She loved telling stories to the many children she cared for. She and Alice later cared for their brother Ernest and their aunt Wanda-Bee.
Linda was a member of the Westwood Church of Christ in Sherman, Tx. She was an example for many people and an inspiration with her faith in God. Her service will be held on Saturday, January 20 at 2:00pm at the Church of Christ in Kemp, Ok. Family night will be Friday, January 19 at Waldo Funeral Home from 6pm to 8pm. Pall bearers are Brian Agee, Ernest Pressley, Casey Cockrill, Quincy Skinner, Wade Wagnon, and Thomas Bergland.
