A Celebration of Life for Lloyd Gilbert, age 78, of Gainesville, TX will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, February 7, 2026 at 1314 Magnolia St., Gainesville, TX 76240.  Lloyd James Gilbert passed away Saturday, January 17, 2026, at his residence after losing his battle to cancer.

Lloyd was born January 10, 1948, in Hughes, Oklahoma. Lloyd was the    son of Herbert Earl Gilbert and Emma Jane Murchison. Lloyd enjoyed spending time on the golf course, and with family playing dominoes, and frisbee. Lloyd is preceded in death by Herbert Earl Gilbert, father, Emma Jane Murchison, mother, William Earle Gilbert, nephew, and Harold Goldman, brother-in-law.

Lloyd is survived by William Earl Gilbert, brother, and his wife Sue of The Colony, TX., Phyllis Ann Goldman, sister, of Fairview, TX., Audrey Elaine Burton Gilbert, companion of Gainesville, TX., Stacey Renee Hummel, daughter, and her husband Scott of Terrell, TX., Michael Joe Mahaffey, son, and wife Brenda of Johnson City, TN., and Lloyd James Gilbert, Jr., son and his wife Joy, of Manassas, VA., and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
