Obituary

Loe Etta Johnson passed from this life on Friday, August 4, 2023. Her life will be
celebrated with a graveside service at Cedarlawn Memorial Park in Sherman, Texas, on
Thursday, August 17th at 9:30 a.m. Ken Mullins, from Western Heights Church of Christ,
will officiate and funeral arrangements are under the direction of Waldo Funeral Home.

Loe Etta was born in Sherman, Texas on July 18, 1933, the daughter of Jeff Guy Tipton
and Mattie Duncan Tipton. After graduating from Sherman High School in 1951, she
attended Draughon's Business College. Loe Etta married Charles W. Johnson on
January 29, 1954, and together they had one son, Darryl.


Loe Etta worked for 16 years as an office manager and lighting specialist for Watson
Electric Supply. She served many years as Altar Guild directress, under the direction of
Father James W. Garrard at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church in Sherman. She also
volunteered with many veteran organizations and the Sherman Crisis Center.
Loe Etta was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt, who
loved life and all of her family and friends very much.
Loe Etta was preceded in death by her husband, Charles; parents, Jeff and Mattie; and
sister, Patsy Diggs.


She is survived by her son, Darryl Johnson and his wife Terri of Sherman; two
grandchildren: Chad Johnson and wife Sandi of Sherman, Wesley Johnson and wife
Cassie of Ben Franklin; two great-grandchildren: Braylen Johnson and Kinsley Johnson.
She is also survived by her sister, Betty Leiby and niece, Judy Klotzbach of Concord,
Ohio; niece Dale Adams and nephew Phillip Payne of Gaithersburg, VA; as well as
several great nieces and nephews.


The family wishes to express their gratitude and heartfelt thanks to Loe Etta's wonderful
caregivers, Glenda Bills, and Mary Holloway, and the nursing staff at Texoma
Healthcare Center.
