Lou Ann (Kretsinger) Booker

August 4, 1937 - March 4, 2026

Lou Ann (Kretsinger) Booker, 88, of Sherman, Texas, passed away peacefully on March 4, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on August 4, 1937, in Denison, Texas, she was the cherished daughter of Virginia "Ninny" Kretsinger and Charles Edward "Buddy" Kretsinger.

Lou Ann graduated from Denison High School in 1955, where she was an active member of the FHA (Future Homemakers of America) and lived a life devoted to her faith, family, and community.

She married the love of her life, Jerry Lee Booker on May 7, 1960. Together they lived in Dallas, TX and went on to have two sons, Jerry Morgan Booker and Jon Daniel Booker.  Jerry Lee Booker died on April, 12th, 1972, She remarried Several years later to Lary Jordan, and lived in Dallas, Sugarland, and Midland Tx due to his job. After their divorce she returned to Grayson County to be closer to family.  Lou Ann worked as a janitor at Medial complex, a house cleaner and caregiver and helped care her great grandmother Nora Frances, and mother Virginia Kretsinger for Several yrs.

Lou Ann's greatest pride came from caring for her family. A loving wife, mother, and grandmother, she wholeheartedly supported her sons and grandchildren. Her nurturing spirit extended to numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews with whom she cultivated meaningful relationships.

A devout Christian, Lou Ann found immense joy and purpose in her involvement with local churches. She was an active member of First Baptist Church, West Sherman Baptist Church, Parkside Baptist Church, and Heritage Nazarene Church throughout her life. Her faith was central to her being, and she treasured her time working in church nurseries and sharing fellowship with her sisters in Christ.

She had a passion for gardening and delighted in creating beautiful spaces that reflected her love of nature. Lou Ann also loved cooking for family, friends and community—a true labor of love that brought people together. In quieter moments, she enjoyed watching classic movies or engaging in arts and crafts projects that showcased her creativity.

Lou Ann is survived by her two sons: Jerry Morgan Booker and Jon Daniel Booker; two grandsons: Buddy Lee Booker and Jonaton "Nikole" Booker; former daughter-in-law Kristina Gaye Booker; brother-in-law David Booker; sister-in-law, Debbie Wind; as well as many extended family members who will forever cherish their memories of her kindness and warmth.
