Luther Edward Wilcoxon Jr., age 81 of Sherman, TX passed away on Wednesday, December 20, 2023 in Sherman surrounded by his family.

He was born on September 29, 1942 in Vanceburg, KY the son of Luther Edward Wilcoxon Sr. and Nellie Mae (Wright) Wilcoxon. Luther graduated from Washington High School in Washington Court House, Ohio. He joined and served in the United States Air Force. Luther married Lyndall Elaine Hobbs. They were married for almost 60 years before she preceded him in death on January 24, 2023. Luther loved traveling, guns, wood carving, painting, drawing and playing golf. He was a member of Saint Stephen's Episcopal Church in Sherman.

Luther is survived by his daughter, Kelly Wilcoxon and husband Brad Holifield, granddaughter, Shelby Hall and Clayton Simpson all of Sherman, two sisters, Norma Burke and Edith Meyers.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Lyndall and infant daughter Jennifer Elaine Wilcoxon.

Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, December 26th at 2:00 PM at the West Hill Cemetery Mausoleum building. Burial will follow at the cemetery.
