Sherman - A memorial service for Lynda Gayle Terry will be held at 2:00PM Sunday September 20 at the Waldo Funeral Home in Sherman. After suffering a stroke in 2024, Lynda, 88, passed away peacefully in her sleep at the Keller Oaks Healthcare Center on Sunday, August 30.

Lynda was born July 2, 1938 in Howe to the late Robert Glen Sollis and Janet (King) Sollis. Lynda grew up working on the family farm; driving the tractor, cooking meals, and learning to sew. While in high school, she won first place in a 4H sewing contest that awarded her a trip to Chicago for the National 4H Convention in 1954. Lynda graduated from Howe High School and headed to Texas Women's University. On July 2, 1958, she married the love of her life, Hubert G. Terry Jr and together they shared 53 years of marriage while raising 2 children, Cindy and Brigette.

Lynda was a devoted homemaker who cherished her two children, enjoyed sewing and spending weekends at Lake Texoma. Her grandchildren knew her as "Good Mommy" and she treasured the moments spent with them.

She is survived by her daughter Cindy (Brian) Jamieson; her four grandchildren, Krissy, Kimberly, Melissa and Kyle; her brother Robert (Mary) Sollis; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Hubert G Terry Jr, and her daughter, Brigette Throwbridge.
