Johnny Mack Pate passed away November 4, 2023, at TMC Hospital in Denison.

He was born February 7, 1945, in Leonard, Texas to D.A. and Inez Pate.  He was a graduate of Windom High School and East Texas State University.  He married Sherry Lehtinen on June 8, 1968.  He spent forty years in education starting at Everman, then Honey Grove, then Wyland Baptist College, then S & S where he spent the remaining years as elementary/middle school principal.  During that time, he earned a PHD in education at East Texas State.

Mack is survived by his wife, Sherry of Sherman, a brother, Dan of Bonham and numerous nephews and nieces.  Mack was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Joe and Billy, a sister Betty, daughter Valisha and son John.
