Margaret Lucille Thruston Edwards, loving mother, wife and friend, passed away Sunday, August 23, 2015 at her home in Sherman. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, August 26, at Waldo Funeral Home chapel with Bro. Rodney Stanford officiating.
Lucille was born April 4, 1920 in Orangeville, Texas to Alton and Una Pauline (Vestal) Bowen. Her parents were ranchers and commercial grocers in the north Texas area. She graduated from Trenton High School. She married W.F. Thruston in 1939. They had one daughter, Ronnett. Lucille married Carl Edwards in 1985. Lucille was a quiet, positive force in the community. She inspired others with her calm, reasoned approach to life. She shared her love for people, her civic minded spirit, and generous heart with all who knew her. She was a career business woman in the banking, automobile, and insurance industries. Kindness was her touchstone. She was loved by all and will be greatly missed. The family is especially grateful for the love and support of the many friends during Lucille's remarkable life.
Lucille was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Alton Wayne Bowen, and sister, Pollye Bowen Jones.
She is survived by her daughters, Ronnett Powell of Sherman, and Carla Lynne Edwards Sams and her husband J.D. of Ft. Worth, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
