IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Marion "Teetaw"
P. Fuller
September 18, 1933 – June 28, 2023
Funeral services for Marion "Teetaw" Fuller will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, July 8 at the Trinity Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 AM prior to the service. Mr. Fuller passed away Wednesday, June 28 at Pecan Point Assisted Living at the age of 89.
Marion Powell Fuller was born September 18, 1933, in a rural community outside of Randolph, Texas to Floyd and Hattie Fuller. Teetaw grew up farming with his family. He had two brothers and one sister. Teetaw married S. Jeane Fuller (Granny) on May 16, 1952, and they moved to Sherman to start their lives together. From that union were born three sons, Mike, Dan, and Tim, and three daughters-in-law, seven grandchildren, and sixteen great grandchildren.
Teetaw wore many hats through his years of employment. He delivered freight for Central Freight Lines, worked at Samsals grocery store as a butcher and salesclerk, and also worked at Hardwick Etter Company. On his off time, he and his sons mowed yards in the Sherman area. He also hauled square hay for several years for several ranches including Hudgins Pens. Over the years Teetaw probably re-roofed every house in Sherman. He also built a few houses for himself and Granny. The houses he built, he built from the ground up, doing the foundation work to finishing the interior, installing the plumbing and electrical and all the fixtures. Teetaw also had horses and spent many days riding along highway 75. He raised a few cows too.
Teetaw's most rewarding job was working as the fireman for the city of Sherman. After 26 years with the fire department, he retired in 1993. In retirement, Teetaw continued his work as a roofer and anything else he could do to occupy his time.
Mr. Fuller is survived by two sons, Danny Fuller and wife Melinda of Sherman and Tim Fuller and wife Linda of Sulphur Springs; daughter-in-law, Brenda Fuller of Sherman; and sister, Martha Jane Cox of San Antonio. He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Hattie Fuller; wife, S. Jeane Fuller; son, Mike Fuller; and two brothers, Floyd Dean and Joe Fuller.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude's Childrens Hospital.
