Marjorie Elliott Hill
September 11, 1928—June 27, 2021
Marjorie "Margie" Hill received her angel's wings in Tyler, Texas on June 27, 2021. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Hill, her parents William and Edna Elliott, her brother Weldon Elliott, and her sister Louise Elliott Anderson.
Born and raised in the countryside around Whitesboro and Dexter, Texas, she graduated from Whitesboro High School. After graduating, she moved to Sherman where she met and married the one and only love of her life, Jack Hill, on Valentine's Day, 1948.
Residing in Sherman, both she and Jack were active members of the East Sherman Baptist Church, alongside their life-long friends Earline and Bob Alexander. Devoted in her love for the Lord and her home church, Marjorie was long active there in Sunday School and the WMU.
Marjorie was also a longtime employee of the Merchants & Planters National Bank in downtown Sherman. For many years, her friendly smile and warm greeting made her many regular customers feel welcome as they dropped by her drive-through banking window.
During their 53-year marriage, Marjorie and Jack always enjoyed traveling, with Branson, Missouri and the Colorado Rockies being favorite destinations, and also doting on their nieces and nephews from the Elliott and Hill families.
Marjorie is cherished and will be greatly missed by her surviving sisters-in-law, Joyce Hill of Sherman and Robbie Tellman of Irving, her many loving nieces and nephews, including her niece Wanda Buckner who lovingly cared for her the last few years, and special grandchildren Michelle Noble Hansard and Priscilla Noble Hall.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, July 2 at Waldo Funeral Home. Rev. Rob Shepherd will officiate. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM Thursday at Waldo Funeral Home.
