Martha "Midge"
Akin
Jul 7, 1939 — Oct 30, 2026
Luella, Texas
In Loving Memory of Martha “Midge” Akin
Midge was, without a doubt, one of the most beautiful souls to ever walk this earth. To her family, she was not simply a mother, grandmother, sister or friend. She was the heart of our family, the person who made everything feel right, and the kind of person that you felt blessed to have met.
She was the best person on this planet. Her heart was filled with a kindness so genuine, a love so unconditional, and a selflessness that made everyone around her feel special. She gave so much of herself to others without ever asking for anything in return. Her love was the kind that made you feel safe, and the kind that reminded you that no matter what happened in life, you would always have someone in your corner.
Born in 1939 at the family home in Bloomdale, Texas, Midge was one of nine children. She was the beloved daughter of Minnie “Cleo” and Melvin Davidson. She spent her early years working on her family’s farm and attending Bloomdale School. Midge was a Christian and attended Baptist Church throughout her life. Her faith and her love for others were reflected in the way she lived and the way she treated people.
Midge found joy in gardening, painting, crocheting, working in her yard, cooking, and entertaining. She had a special gift for making a house feel like home and for making people feel like family. Her home was a place of warmth, laughter, delicious food, and memories that will be cherished forever. The smallest moments spent with her are now some of the most precious gifts her family will ever hold.
But her greatest joy was always her family. She was a devoted mother to her 6 children, a loving grandmother to 16 grandchildren, and a proud great-grandmother to her numerous great-grandchildren. She loved with her whole heart, and every generation of her family was blessed to know her love.
Midge is survived by her children, Cynthia Villacis, Ronda Lynn, Charlotte Jones, Billy Jones, and Rebecca Jackson, her grandchildren, and her great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings Carol Crutcher, Billy Davidson, Steve Davidson and Sister-in-law Paulette Davidson. As well as their spouses and extended families.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Minnie “Cleo” and Melvin Davidson, her siblings Jimmie Davidson, Patsy Lambert, Mary Ann Riley, Donna Gonzales, Jo Nell Reeves and her beloved son, John.
Midge’s legacy is not measured in years, but in the love she gave, the lives she touched, and the memories she left behind. She taught us that the greatest gift we can give another person is out love, our time, and our kindness. She showed us how to care for others, how to make people feel welcome and how to appreciate the simple things.
We will miss her in ways words can never explain. We will miss her voice, her laughter, her hugs, her presence, and the comfort of knowing she was always there. We will miss the little things that once seemed ordinary but now mean everything. There will be moments when we reach for the phone to call her, moments when we wish we could sit beside her one more time, and moments when the only thing we want is to hear her say that everything will be okay.
The world was a better place because Midge was in it. Our family was blessed beyond measure to call her ours. We will forever be grateful for every moment we were given with her, and we will spend the rest of our lives loving her, missing her, and honoring the beautiful person she was.
We love you more than words could ever say. We miss you more than we could ever explain. And we will carry you in our hearts for the rest of our lives.
Forever missed and forever loved.
