Mary Irene Edwards "Nanny" age 102, of Sherman, Texas passed away April 22, 2025, at her home in Sherman.

Mary was born December 2, 1922, in Picher, Oklahoma to Troy Clyde O'Bar and Delila Lutacia Griffin O'Bar.  She attended high school in the west Texas area and later married James Alvis Edwards in Van Alstyne, Texas on May 11, 1940.

She enjoyed quilting and gardening and was a faithful member of the Jehovah Witness Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband James on January 5, 1992, son Jimmy Clyde Edwards in 1983, and sons Dennis and Johnny, both in 2023; grandsons Jeremy Dean Edwards in 1974 and Timothy Clinton Edwards in 1999; brothers T C O'Bar, George O'Bar, Charles O'Bar; sisters Lorene Taylor, Aletha Ciaccio, Dema Harris, Edna Campbell, Donna Holert and Winona Holland.

She is survived by son Bobby Dan Edwards and spouse Jan of Burleson, TX; daughter Mary Kay Thomas of Bonham, TX; son Timothy Dean Edwards of Denison, TX; daughters, Charlette Ann Edwards of Denison, TX, Carol Edwards of New Market, TN; Trudy Edwards, TX; 25 grandchildren, 54 great grandchildren, 42 great great grandchildren and one great great great grandchild.

A visitation will be April 25th at Waldo Funeral Home from 6:00-8:00 PM.  A graveside service will be held Sat. April 26th at Cedarlawn Memorial Park in Sherman at 2:30 PM.  A memorial service will be held at the Kingdom Hall in Denison, Sat. May 3rd, at 4:00 pm. The service will be zoomed.
