IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Mary Ann
Ragan
September 3, 1941 – December 30, 2024
Mary Ann Olsen Ragan, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, left our world surrounded by her loved ones on December 30th, 2024 at the age of 83.
Mary was born September 3, 1941 to Ephriam and Ella Olsen. She graduated at the top of her class from Davenport High School. She attended Iowa State Teachers College and spent many years as an executive secretary at Davenport Bank. She continued working in the banking industry for many years. Some of her best years were spent raising her two children and traveling the country with her husband.
She married her beloved husband, Larry Ragan, on September 8, 1962, in Davenport, Iowa.
They shared 62 wonderful years together.
Mary had many hobbies and excelled at everything she did. Her hobbies included quilting, cards, tennis, bowling, and her favorite, golf. During her life, she won countless golf tournaments and hit a hole-in-one three times.
Her greatest joy in life was spending time with family and friends. Some of Mary's favorite days were spent at the golf course, particularly teaching her grandchildren the correct rules and regulations of golf. Another favorite was sitting around a table telling stories and playing games.
Mary and Larry were members of Trinity Lutheran Church in Sherman, Texas.
Mary lived life to the fullest, and was always eager to learn, grow, and make new friends.
Mary is survived by her husband Larry Ragan; Daughter Laurel Ragan McKinney, Son Roger Ragan and wife Vanessa; Grandchildren Whitney Ragan, Kelsey Simmons and husband Curt, Zachary McKinney, and wife Madison, and Kayla Ragan; Great Grandchildren Emersyn Simmons, Griffin Simmons, Aubrey McKinney, and Reece McKinney.
We will all miss her generous spirit, quick wit, and willingness to teach others everything she knew.
Private services will be held to celebrate Mary's life. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Alzheimer's Association in Mary's honor.
