IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Melissa Marie
Shaw
November 10, 1982 – October 22, 2025
Melissa Marie Shaw, 42 years old, of Sherman, died Wednesday, October 22, in Bells, Texas, surrounded by her loving family, after a brief battle with cancer.
Melissa was born on November 10th, 1982. She was the daughter of David and Paula (Pipkin) Shaw. She was a 2001 graduate of Sherman High School.
She loved talking, watching movies, planting flowers, and watching them grow and bloom. Melissa was a Baptist.
Melissa loved children, and her job reflected that love. She worked at Jack and Jen 2 Day Care. She treated each of the children she cared for with kindness, love, and protection, as if they were her own. She was the most giving, caring, and kind person to everyone who was blessed to have her in their lives.
Melissa was preceded in death by her mother, Paula Shaw, grandparents, David and Betty Shaw, Fred and Ruby Pipkin; and uncles, Michael Pipkin and Freddie Pipkin.
Surviving are her father, David Shaw; sister, Makayla Shaw; brother, Michael Shaw, and his wife, Patti; their children, Avery, Cory, and Kayla, all of Sherman; aunts and uncles, Sharon and Otis Henry of Bells, Diana and Mike Sikes of Denison, Joanna and Chet Spillers of Denison, and Linda Johns of Houston.
She is also survived by numerous cousins, her companion of 20 years, Kenny, and last but not least, her dog, Nikko.
The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 am, Friday, October 24, in the Chapel of Waldo Funeral Home. The graveside service will be held at 11:30 am, Friday, October 24, at the outdoor chapel at West Hill Cemetery in Sherman. Pastor Darin Ivey of Promised Land Church will officiate.
The family would like to say a special thank you to Brock Wendt and the staff at Concho Hearts Hospice of Sherman, including Karla, Megan, Joe, Amy, and Chaplain Mark Fletcher. You have all made this very difficult time more bearable. Thank you so Much!
