Michael W. Adams, age 72, of Sherman, Texas ascended to his eternal home on Friday, August 30, 2024, at Texoma Medical Center in Denison, Texas.
Michael Adams was born September 2,1951 in Sherman Texas to Mr. JT and Mrs. Mary Adams at Wilson N. Jones hospital along with his six other siblings. He was raised up in the church at Greater New Hope. He graduated from Sherman High School in 1969 and then attended Grayson and Southeastern College to study Engineering. He joined the Air Force in 1971-1977 as Secretary. After being honorably discharged from the Military, he worked for Central Freight, Yellow Freight, and Red Ball Trucking Company driving the big rigs for several years. Later retired and returned home to take care of his precious mother and family whom he adored.
Michael's four children: Gary Adams-Doss, Ashley Adams, BraShawn Adams, and Sareaza Wilson. Pawpaw Mike was a true sweetheart to his 4 grandchildren, (JaVonte' and Ciarra Adams-Doss, Zantreyus, and Zayonna Hopson) and 2 great-grandchildren (Adaira Davis and Jaiden Doss).
He was known as the "Candy Man" to all children around because he always had a pocket full of candy to hand out! He was very talented in basketball, creating music, and was an Artist in his own right. Loved reading the Word of God, enjoyed tending to his garden, and was absolutely fond of motorcycles, he even bartended for a short time.
Michael is preceded in death by his father, Mr. JT Adams. He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Mary Adams. Along with his children, grandchildren and his great grandchildren. Siblings: Shirley Collins, Barbara (Chester) Kirksey, Mildred (Pete) Wright, Dremetris (Tony) Chester, Bobby Adams, Fran (Drew) Haywood. Michael's Significant Other, Betty Adams.
Along with a Host of extended relatives and friends.
A public visitation will be Friday, September 6th from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Waldo Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be on Saturday, September 7th at 11:00 AM in the Greater New Hope Baptist Church -722 E. Pecan Street Sherman. Rev. Steve Stell is the officiant and Rev. Michael Braxton will deliver the eulogy.
Burial will follow in the Veterans Garden at West Hill Cemetery in Sherman.
Arrangements have been entrusted to James E. Smith and the professionals of Waldo Funeral Home.
