In honor of Mittie Louise Calhoun

Mittie "Louise" Brueggemeyer was born on December 9, 1933 in Leon, Oklahoma as the 4th of 8 children. She grew up in Sherman, Texas graduating from Sherman High School in 1952. After she married her husband, Sr. Master Sergeant James Lacy Calhoun in 1954, she lived in numerous locations around the world but she always called Texas her home. Always a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, Louise lived her life ensuring the happiness of her family.

Louise passed from this life on March 16, 2023. She was preceded in death by her husband James as well as her parents, Robert and Velma Brueggemeyer, brothers S.A. Brueggemeyer and his wife Marjorie, Edward Brueggemeyer and wife Jean, sister Pearl Smith and husband Joe and finally sister Clara Anderson.

She is survived by her daughters Belinda Kay Cochrane and husband Craig, Janet Lynn Cross, grandsons, James Robert Morgan and wife Sara, Ryan Adam Cross and wife Ambar, great-granddaughter Avery Louise Morgan and great-grandson Miles Dean Morgan. She is also survived by brother Robert Brueggemeyer and wife Lana and sister Linda Magazzine. Louise also had numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held for Louise at the West Hill Cemetery in Sherman, Texas on Monday, March 20, 2023 at 1:30 pm. Rev. Brian Taylor of Forest Avenue Baptist Church will officiate.

Arrangements are under the direction of Waldo Funeral Home.
