Obituary

Funeral services will be held at North Park Baptist Church for Nancy Irvin Willingham of Sherman who passed away, Sunday, March 2, 2025. Bro. David Murphy of North Park, and Mike Hermanson with Guardian Hospice, will direct the services. Arrangements are under the direction of Waldo Funeral Home. The family will receive visitors at Waldo Funeral Home on Tuesday March 4th, 2025, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. The funeral service will be at North Park Baptist Church at 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 5th, 2025. Interment will follow at Cedarlawn Memorial Park.

Nancy, the daughter of Otis and Berthal Irvin, was born at home in the Dripping Springs community, Grayson County, Texas, November 26, 1933.  She graduated from Sherman High School in 1951. On March 28,1953 she married Ernest Dayle Willingham at North Park Baptist Church in Sherman. Nancy worked at Mrs. Tuckers Shortening between 1951 to 1954.  She then became a mother and housewife.  She loved taking care of her family and her home. She also worked as secretary at NPBC from 1968 to 1971. She attended NPBC from "Cradle Roll" until her death.  She taught in the Youth Department and the Gleaners' Women Sunday School Class.  She also sang in the church choir and served on many church committees.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, husband, grandson Andrew Scott Knowles, two brothers Joe T. Irvin and Ronald O. Irvin and one sister, Charlene Reynolds.  Survivors include daughter Cheryl Knowles of Sherman, son Timothy and Lisa Willingham of San Angelo, Texas, daughter Julie Denton and Danny of Sherman.  She has 6 grandchildren, Stephen Knowles, Sean Willingham, Jason Willingham, Erin Haynes, Matthew Denton and Katie Denton. She has 5 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Timothy Willingham, Sean Willingham, Jason Willingham, Matthew Denton, Lynn Burton, Stephen Knowles and Brian Burton.

If desired, memorials can be made to the North Park Building Fund, 2605 Rex Cruise, Sherman TX 75092; or Guardian Hospice, 2009 Independence Drive, Suite 100, Sherman, TX. 75090.

The family would like to thank Guardian Home Health for the wonderful care that was given to Nancy.
