Naomi Ellis age 94 formerly of Sherman, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, December 14th at her son's residence in New Boston, Tx. She was born on April 22,1929 in Monroe La. to Carrie Pargoud Rogers and Norman Rodgers. She was raised by her adoptive parents Yancy Pargoud and Leola Pargoud.
She attended Quichita Parrish Elementary, Carroll Highschool and Grambling State University.
She moved to Sherman Tx after her marriage to Carl Ellis Sr. She spent her life being a devoted wife and mother to her six children. She will be remembered by all as the little lady with the big heart who always had a smile on her face.
She was an active member of St. John CME Church for many years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Carl Ellis Sr., her daughters Ladonna Jones and Sharon Brooks, her sisters Helen Emmerson and Geraldine Williams.
She is survived by her son Carl Ellis Jr. (wife Lawanda), daughters Alice Hill, (husband Leonard), Machelle Alexander, Kimberly Dudley (husband Jeff), sister Wilma Sledge and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Her grandson's and great grandson, Cedric Jones, Brandon Hill, Anthony Hill, Marvin Ellis, Jordan Alexander, and Andrew Hill are her pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers Vaughn Family.
The family would like to extend their appreciation and thanks to all the medical staff at St. Michael's Hospital and the absolute care from the Texarkana Tx. Hospice staff. St. John CME Church and the Vaughn family for your love and support and to all our many friends.
A public visitation will be on Friday, December 22nd from 2 P.M. to 7 P.M. at Waldo Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be held Saturday, December 23rd at 11 A.M. at Waldo Funeral Home Chapel. Officiating will be Rev. Carrie Renter.
Burial will follow in Cedarlawn Memorial Park, Sherman. Repast for family and friends will be at Waldo Family Center after the burial.
