Marie “Nell” Jarvis, born January 9, 1939, in Exeter California, to parents who preceded her in death, Delilah and Cyrus Stevens, passed away peacefully in her home on September 15, 2026.
On March 26, 1955, Nell married James Weldon Jarvis Sr., her partner in life for 64 years until his passing on December 16, 2020. Together they raised 4 children — James Jarvis Jr, living in Sherman, Pamela Hardin, living in Greenville, Timmy Jarvis, living in Sherman and Tammy married to Bill Bonnell, living in Sherman — who were the pride of her life. She also leaves behind two sisters Mary living in Sherman and Alpha living in Oklahoma, brothers Mike married to Ida living in Oklahoma and Jerry married to Sharon living in Paris. Nell had 7 grandchildren, Heather and Misty living in Oklahoma, Shawn living in Phoenix, Kimberly married to Colby living in Greenville and Jonathan engaged to Jillian living in Josephine, Kristina married to Danny living in Sherman and Cory married to Kristy living in Sherman. Nell had 9 great‑grandchildren Ava living in Phoenix, Abigail living in Ohio, Joshua living in Plano and Hannah living in Josephine, Gryffin, Ada and Georgia living in Sherman, Katy married to Chris living in Denison, Caleb married to Gabriela living in Sherman. Nell had 2 great-great grandchildren, Levi living in Denison and Lyla living in Sherman, each of whom carries a piece of her spirit forward.
Nell was a woman of quiet strength, steady devotion, and deep love for her family. Her life was marked by hard work, resilience, and an unwavering commitment to those she cared for. She touched countless lives with her warmth, her honesty, and her ability to make others feel supported and valued.
A memorial visitation will be held Saturday, September 19, 2-4pm at Waldo Funeral Home in Sherman.
Her legacy lives on in the family she raised, the lives she protected, and the love she gave so freely.
