Ola Marie Eggleston Jennings, age 94, passed away April 10, 2026, in Sherman, Texas. She was born October 26, 1931, in Marietta, Oklahoma, to Charles Franklin Eggleston and Lettie Mary Jane Watts Eggleston. Ola married SMSgt Robert L. Jennings, on May 1, 1950, at the age of 18. They shared 65 years of marriage. As an Air Force wife, she devoted her life to her family while raising seven children.
In her 94 years, Ola never stopped being a mother. She often said that being a mother was her greatest accomplishment. Ola was the seventh of eleven children, and her early life in Oklahoma centered around family, love, and providing the basics of life. Those values stayed with her throughout her life and shaped the loving home she created for her family.
She is survived by her children: Johnny and Sandra Jennings of Stillwater, Oklahoma; Wilson and Trish Jennings of Sherman, Texas; Charles Jennings & Ann Haynes of Gordonville, Texas; Jeffery Jennings of McKinney, Texas; Daniel and Patty Jennings of Sherman, Texas; Janet Jennings-Spruiell and Larry Spruiell of McKinney, Texas; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one sister, Ruby Marks of Springfield, Oregon. Ola’s 17 grandchildren include Crystal Keeler of Forney, Texas; Sharron Caldwell of Calera, Oklahoma; D’Leisa and Randy Graves of Hillsboro, Texas; Julie McClure of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; Luke & Micah Jennings of Pottsboro, Texas; Lydia & Ryan Kreck of McKinney, Texas; Lara Jennings of Prosper, Texas; Linzee & Colby Oberle of Tioga, Texas; Libby Jennings of Sacramento, California; Candy & Lou Hatch of Pottsboro, Texas; Kelly & Demby Marshall of Pottsboro, Texas; Jessica & Andrew Dowhaniuk of Fort Collins, Colorado; Andrew (Remsen) Jennings and partner Justin Foster of Dallas, Texas; Brian Jennings of Sherman, Texas; Jennifer & Josh Daniels of Howe, Texas; Thomas (TJ) Griffith of Denton, Texas; and Cy Thomas Burden of Durant, Oklahoma, along with 21 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren.
Ola is preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Jennings; both parents; her daughter, Diane Jennings; daughter-in-law Barbara Jennings; and numerous siblings.
A family visitation will be held at Waldo Funeral Home on Friday, April 17, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A graveside service will be held at Cedar Lawn Memorial Park on Saturday, April 18, at 10:00 a.m., followed by a family gathering and lunch at Trinity Baptist Church, Sherman.
