Mrs. Opal L. Scruggs, 81 of Sherman, Tx passed away peacefully at her home February 8, 2024. Mrs. Scruggs was preceded in death by parents, Mrs. Lillie Bell Brown and Wardell Brown, sister Bettye Campbell and brother Gene Brown, Marlon Brown and Marvin Brown.
Mrs. Scruggs was employed by Texas Instruments for 35 years and spent the rest of her golden years retired. Born April 25, 1942, Mrs. Opal Scruggs is survived by her children, Gregory Scruggs of Arlington Tx, Gweneen Scruggs of Tampa Florida, Gaylon Scruggs and his wife, Lisa Scruggs of McKinney, Tx and Greta Jackson and her husband Robert Bowen Jackson Jr of New Haven, Michigan; siblings; Henry Brown, Joe Nathan Brown Sr, Joe Earl Brown, Kevin Malvern and Joyce Ball; host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Mrs. Opal Scruggs was an advocate gardener and took pride in cooking her vegetables when hosting Holiday gatherings. She was fun-loving and quick with a joke. We will always carry your memory in our hearts.
A public visitation will be Friday, February 16th from 2 PM to 7 PM at Waldo Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be Saturday, February 17th at 11 AM at Fellowship Missionary Baptist with Rev. Stanley Sanders, Host Pastor and Prophet Aaron Phea officiating. Burial will follow at Cedarlawn Memorial Park in Sherman.
