IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Patricia
Blacknell
July 24, 1947 – April 20, 2025
Patricia Ann Walton Blacknell, of Sherman, Texas, passed away on April 20, 2025, at the age of 77. She was born in Sherman on July 24, 1947, to the late William E. Walton Jr. and Billie Joe Durham Walton.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Eddie Dorsey Blacknell Jr.; her sister, Chan Walton Williams; and her brothers, William Walton III and Ronnie Walton; and her parents.
Patricia was a proud graduate of Fred Douglass High School, Class of 1965. She briefly attended nursing school in Sherman before deciding it wasn't the right fit. She later worked for the City of St. Louis and retired in 2014.
Known for her sharp wit, stylish presence, and big heart, Patricia enjoyed shopping, trips to the "boat" (casino), and watching her favorite murder shows and The Real Housewives, always with gospel music playing in the background. More than anything, she loved spending time with her grandsons.
She is survived by her children: Krystal D. Blacknell Oliver, Eddie D. Blacknell III, Chasity L. Blacknell Jackson, and Shawn Johnson; and her bonus son, Tony Harris. Her cherished grandchildren include Ronnie D. Wilder-Bey, Jourdan D. Oliver, and Patrice Nevins Rausch.
She is also survived by her siblings: Sammy D. Walton, Kenny B. Walton, and Joan-Ellen Walton Alston; her best friend and sister in spirit, Delois Smith; and a large extended family of nieces, nephews, and friends.
Patricia lived with grace, grit, and a deep love for those around her. Her presence will be deeply missed, and her memory forever treasured.
