Patricia Marie Oestreich, 83, of Sherman, TX passed away peacefully onMay 31, 2026 in Denison, TX.
Patricia was born on January 12th, 1943 in Emporia, KS. She was the daughter of Grace and Morris Wilson who proceeded her in death. She is survived by her husband Larry, son Chris and his wife Val and their two children, daughter Logan and son, Spencer Oestreich, his wife Whitney and their two children Annika and Willem and Pat’s sister Karen Reeves.
She graduated from Ottawa High School and then attended Ottawa University. After a year of college she began working in Topeka, KS for the phone company. It is in Topeka that she met the love of her life, Larry Oestreich. They married October 13th 1962 and began their family with the birth of their son Chris on October 16th, 1963. For Pat life was an adventure. Along with Larry they resided in Robinson, Topeka, Holton, Fredonia (all in Kansas) then moved to Kansas City, MO then relocated to Phillipsburg in west central KS. Along the way Pat was active in the communities they resided in while supporting Larry as he worked his way into management with Farmland Industries and local Coops. She enjoyed collecting and refinishing antiques, drawing, painting and volunteering at her church. While a resident of Phillipsburg she went to flight school and earned her pilots license when she soloed on November 6th 1979. She also worked several part-time jobs and obtained her insurance license.
After Phillipsburg Pat and Larry moved to Haven, KS where they celebrated their 25th wedding Anniversary and welcomed their first grandchild. Their next stop was Okeene, Oklahoma. It was in Okeene that Pat blossomed in her role as a servant-leader. She was active in the Oklahoma Red Cross and became the state Managing President. During her time in this role, the Muir Federal Building in Oklahoma City was bombed. In her role as Managing President, she organized all Red Cross volunteers. They worked around the clock for several weeks supporting law enforcement and rescue crews as they investigated, cleared the sight and recovered survivors and victims. This event had a tremendous impact on her life and outlook. She took great pride in giving her time to help others. She was recognized by the Governor of Oklahoma and their legislature for her work during the tragedy.
In 1998 Pat and Larry moved to Sherman, TX to be close to Chris, Val, Spencer and Logan. Pat immediately became active volunteering at the First United Methodist Church and its many groups and activities. Pat and Larry attended adult Sunday school as well as bible study groups. She was also a member of PEO, Stratford Club and volunteered with other organizations in the Sherman area while following her family in all their activities.
