Patsy L. McCanlies, 69yrs, went home to her Father in heaven Monday May 15, 2017 at Wilson N Jones Medical Center in Sherman. Visitation will be held Thursday 6-8pm May 18, 2017 at Waldo Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Friday 2:30pm May 19, 2017 at Waldo Funeral Home. Pastor Daniel Linsteadt will officiate.

Patsy was born December 23, 1947 in Jacksonville, Florida to the late Jasper Courson and Iva (Kato) Courson. She was married to Michael McCanlies on January 15, 1963 in Nahunta, Georgia.

She loved spending time with her family and getting together at every occasion possible to make sure they all remembered what it meant to be family. She spent her life raising and loving her kids and giving selflessly of her time and energy to make sure anyone would feel welcome in her home. She was modest and sincere you always knew where she stood.

She was a rock solid mother to her children, who will remember her for loving them, her selflessness, and having a forgiving sprit. All of her family members will miss receiving a birthday greeting sung to them by her. In her spare time she enjoyed cooking, watching game shows and westerns, working puzzles, and going to Winstar to try her luck.

Patsy is survived by her family, Vesta Sheren and husband Mike of Sherman, Lisa Morgan of Sherman, Mike McCanlies and wife Michelle of Sherman, Jim McCanlies and wife Laurie of Collinsville, TX, and Iva Linsteadt and husband Daniel of Allen, TX; grandchildren Megan, Kasey, Tara, Anthony, Kara, Lexie, DJ, Megan, James, Shambrie, Rashae, Caleb, Colby, Kayden, Kerigen, Kristen, Clara, Matt, Courtney, Brittany and Maddi; great grandchildren Mariah, Eli, Raiden, Emery, Paisleigh, Easton, Landon, Hunter, Hudson, Kylee, Kanton, Angeni, Amillia, Anna Grace, Hunter, Avery, Mason, Jordin, Trysten, Khalyci, Kirsten, Aiden, Natalie, Zoey, Cannan and Tommy Joe, Michael Dean, Lilly, and Jhett.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Michael McCanlies, and her parents.
