Services to celebrate the life of Paul 'Poppy' Riley will be held at 7:00PM on Friday, March 21, at Waldo Funeral Home chapel. Paul went home to be with the Lord on Monday, March 17, from the Texoma Medical Center in Denison at the age of 56.

Paul was born Sunday, February 2, 1958 in Sherman, Texas to Ernest and Billie (Carter) Riley. Paul grew up in Sherman and moved to California when he was older. While living in California, he met the love of his life, Sheryl Potapov, and were later married in Las Vegas, Nevada on January 1, 1981. After their marriage, they came back to Sherman. 'Poppy' worked in lawn service most of his life and was well-known by everyone. He had a huge heart to help anyone in need, and yet a very forgiving man to those who took advantage of him. He loved being with his family. Paul was of the Church of Christ family.

'Poppy' was preceded in death by his parents, and wife Sheryl.

He is survived by his sons: Bryan Riley, Steven Riley, Shawn Riley and wife, Mandy; Kevin Riley and wife, Daisy all of Sherman, TX, and daughter Crystal Krout of Pennsylvania; 21 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, special grandson Jeremey Riley of Sherman, TX, sisters Robin Stigger and Sarah Riley of Sherman, TX, and Carol Riley of Sanger, TX; brother Terry Riley and wife, Debbie of Sanger, TX; special niece Lori Aleman of Plano, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, monetary donations may be made to the funeral home for Poppy's expenses.
