IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Paula Ruth
Goodson
January 6, 1934 – March 10, 2026
RaPaula "Paula" Goodson passed away on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at the age of 92 surrounded by the love of her family. She leaves behind a legacy of strength, resilience, and unwavering devotion to those she loved.
Paula shared a loving and devoted marriage with her husband, Larry Goodson. Together they built a life centered around family, hard work, and commitment to one another. Their marriage was a true partnership, grounded in love, loyalty, and the many memories they created side by side over the years. Together they raised three children, creating a home filled with care, laughter, and strong values. Paula took great pride in her family and in the life she and Larry built together. Her love built the foundation of our family.
She gave endlessly of herself, often putting others before her own needs without hesitation. She had a passion for gardening, cooking, sewing and hosting family and friends. She had a special joy for shopping and a natural eye for style, always taking pride in her appearance. She loved to travel and spend countless summers camping at the lake with family. She loved all animals and could never turn away an animal in need. She cherished time spent with her grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, and had a special love for babies.
The lessons she taught were not always spoken—they were lived. She influenced us all to be kind, to be strong when life becomes difficult, to take care of family, and to always lead with love. She showed us that true strength is quiet, that sacrifice often goes unseen, and that the greatest gift a person can give is their time and their heart.
Losing her leaves a space in our lives that can never be filled. But what she gave us—her love, her wisdom, her sacrifices—will remain with us forever. Every story we tell, every tradition we continue, and every act of kindness we share carries a piece of her forward.
She was preceded in death by her father Dewey Kittrell, her mother Erma Knight, her beloved husband, Larry Goodson, brothers and sister, Kenneth Kittrell, Doyle Kittrell, Sonny Kittrell, Tommy Kittrell, Glenn Kittrell and Doris Jean Hodges, granddaughter Kayla Majors, and grandson Curtis Wampler.
She is survived by her sister Donna Kay Kirkpatrick, her son Robert Wampler his wife Debbie, her son Dennis Goodson and Melinda Pratt, her daughter Dana Majors her husband Mark, her grandchildren, Misti, Jacque, Kody, Sean, Amanda, Larry, Kimberlee, and Matthew, eleven great grandchildren, six great great grandchildren and many beloved nieces, nephews and extended family members who will cherish her memory.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 17th 2026 from 5-7pm at Waldo Funeral Home in Sherman, Tx. Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, March 18 at 10am at Waldo Funeral Home followed by burial at Cedarlawn Memorial.
The family would like to thank those who have offered their love, prayers, and support during this difficult time.
