Obituary

Early on Nov. 24 th , our beloved Paulette was called home by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Apparently, they needed a beautiful flower in heaven. All who knew Paulette felt that vibrant spark of life which would bring a smile to everyone's face. Paulette was a truly special person, with a heart full of kindness, loving all people as well as all of God's creations.

Paulette was the owner and designer of Country Florist in Sherman for over 40 years. Her love and passion for flowers and design were unparalleled and her personality was especially unforgettable; so much so you could catch her arranging flowers while dancing alone. She and Jami Blankenship enjoyed the last 15 years running the shop side by side. Paulette would create beautiful arrangements, step back and say "Bam! Look at that breath of spring". Creating was such a source of joy for her, whether it was flowers, decorating her house, or cooking a gourmet meal while imitating Julia Child. As her son Josh would say, she could make anything out of nothing. She poured love into everything she did.

Paulette loved music – any kind. There was always some kind of music playing in the house, and she loved to sing along and dance no matter the situation. She would grab her grandbabies, spin them around the house and tell them to "feel the music". Any time she saw them dancing, she would get so excited and join in.

One of our favorite things about Paulette was her spontaneity. You could call her at the very last minute and she would immediately agree to whatever you wanted to do – go to the movies, book a trip to Hawaii, go to a concert, go to lunch, and shopping. It didn't matter. She wanted to spend time with the people she loved most, and if that meant sitting at the house and swimming in her pool, taking the boat out on Lake Texoma, or jumping on a plane with 2 days' notice to fly with her son on his work trip and bring her daughter in law, grandson and 2-month-old granddaughter, she was absolutely IN for the trip. She was so joyful when she did things like that. She was in her element. She was always smiling and happy when she could make the people around her smile.

She also had a huge heart for animals – almost to a fault. When an opportunity to help an animal in any way or fashion presented itself, you knew you could call Paulette – in fact, her veterinarian did just that. Buster, she and Wade's French bulldog, needed a loving home and the first thing the vet did was call Paulette. Of course, Buster was immediately picked up and has been dearly loved ever since. There are other examples of her love for animals – chasing a loose cow off the road and driving house to house in an attempt to locate its owner, saving a horse that was headed to market and buying him right off the trailer, saving a pair of puppies off the side of the road, caring for a special needs French bulldog for years, rescuing malnourished horses she saw along the side of the road and notifying the authorities…the list goes on and on.

She is survived by her best friend and the love of her life, her husband Wade (Harmon). She was a devoted mom to her son and his wife: Josh and Amanda Summey, and was the best Nana to the sunshines of her life: Easton, Elliott, and Emmitt. She is also survived by her sister, Jackie and Fred Eintracht; nephew Jason Eintracht and Tara and their two children, Landon and Brody; sister Donna and Doug Barton and their daughter Grace; brother Paul and Cindy Demosthenis, their son Shawn, and his son Alexander; brother-in-law Jerry and Diana Wade and his daughter Jennifer and Jason Archer; sister-in-law Cindy and Butch Burnett and their children Erin and Brandon Simmons, Chris Burnett, and Lauren Stopp.

Our hearts are broken, and she will be greatly missed. Her spirit will live on in the hearts of her family and friends forever. Her family will host a celebration of life next Spring; details will be forthcoming. We love you Paulette.
