Funeral Services for Peggy, age 61, of Leonard will be held at the Valley Creek Baptist Church in Leonard, Texas, on Saturday, February 24, 2024, at 11 a.m. Visitation will be an hour prior to the service starting at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Leonard Cemetery. Brother David Hawkins and Brother James Siegler will officiate. Peggy passed away Tuesday, February 20, 2024 lovingly surrounded by family.

She was born January 8, 1963, in Wharton, Texas. Peggy is the daughter of Max Shiflet and Peggy Pool. She loved to crochet and play word games. Peggy enjoyed making floral arrangements for the church and was also a beautician. Peggy was a member of the Valley Creek Baptist Church. Those who knew Peggy, knew her love for her dog Bo. Peggy married the love of her life, David Norman, on November 14, 1987, at the First Baptist Church in Bonham, Texas. They met in a singles group and spent 36 wonderful years together. Peggy and David made priceless memories going on annual trips to Eastern Europe, enjoying cruises and making their way to Branson, Missouri a few times a year. Her grandkids were life, Gavin, Stella and Caroline and she loved them dearly.

Peggy is preceded in death by her mom and dad, and sister Sherry Gaskill.

She is survived by her husband, David Norman of Leonard, Texas, daughter, Alison Watson(Lance) and son Tyler Norman (Keely) and brother, Lee Shiflet, and grandkids Gavin, Stella, and Caroline.

Pallbearers will be Lance Watson, Bubba Damesworth, Brian Gaskill, Matthew Gaskill, Stan Barker, and Michael Draughn.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Valley Creek Baptist Church- Missionary Funds.
