Peggy Sue
Scroggins
February 3, 1932 – June 1, 2024
Peggy Sue Thomison-Lasater-Hester-Scroggins
Peggy, 92, formerly of Bonham, Tx traded her cross for a crown the morning of June 1st, 2024 at Cedar Ridge Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Pilot Point, Tx. She went to be with the Lord peacefully in her sleep. With family close in her final days she faded slowly with Dementia and Alzheimer's.
Peggy was born on February 3rd, 1932, in Bonham, Tx. She is the daughter of Eddie William Mckinley Thomison and Carrie Bell Jones-Thomison. She spent her childhood and life in Fannin County where she married and raised her family of five children. Peggy was a full-time mother as well as a registered CNA for many years. She served the health and hearts of nursing home residents in Fannin County until she fully retired.
Peggy was a faithful and God-fearing woman of strong and unwavering faith in the Lord. She was a "Holy Roller", Mother, Sister, and Wife. She is remembered as a tiny little spit fired lady with country grace and a little bit of sass. Always willing to help others with kindness and love. Her hobbies included word puzzles, embroidery, writing songs, and serving her Lord. She always made you smile or gave you a full belly chuckle with her chatter. She was known to be the first person to grab a mic once a guitar strummed, as her first love was singing gospel music.
She is survived by daughter Martinnie Lasater-Hagberg and husband Lloyd Hagberg of Pottsboro, Tx., son Eddie G. Bell of Baton Rouge, LA., and son-in-law Daniel Spiller of Sadler, Tx. 9 grandchildren, Michael H. Spiller, Sharri M. Kiernan, Jason C. Three sister-in-laws, Lois Marie Ball, Maggie Barns, Margaret Whitaker and brother-in-law Johnny Lasater, several nieces and nephews.
