Obituary

Ray E. Kuykendall, also lovingly known as Red and Nokie, passed away comfortably and peacefully October 4, 2024. Ray was born at his family's home in the small farming community of Tillman County, OK on January 10, 1941. He is preceded in death by his parents Frank Kuykendall and Doris Enloe Kuykendall and his nephew Douglas Trinque. Ray is survived by his wife of 55 years Virginia Jackson Kuykendall, his daughter Katy Brown, his son-in-law Aaron Brown, his two grandsons Ethan and Henry Brown, his sister Barbara Trinque, his brother-in-law Ray Trinque, his nephew Lance Trinque and his wife Michelle, and his great-niece Emily Trinque. He is also survived by many relatives by marriage from the Jackson family, including nieces, nephews and brothers and sister-in-law. Ray graduated from Southwestern State College in Weatherford, OK in 1965 with a degree in Education. In 1965, he joined the Marine Corps Officer Candidate School in Quantico, VA. He was honorably discharged due to medical reasons. Ray's professional life consisted of insurance underwriting, construction sales and a self-owned general contractor business. He enjoyed his time working as a contractor where he was able to practice his love of carpentry. Ray loved playing golf, dominoes with his friends, watching westerns and mystery shows and enjoying time with his grandsons.  Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday October 18 at Akers Cemetery.  The register book can be signed online at waldofuneralhome.com.
