Robbie Fienning Blystone passed on into the loving arms of her savior on evening of Friday, November 17, 2023 after a 9-year battle with Alzheimer's, she was 72. She fought a remarkable battle, mentally and physically to the end. Robbie was born in Duncan, Oklahoma in December of 1951 to Bob & Rosamond Fienning. She moved to Sherman in 1965 where she quickly made friends and was active in Girl Scouts, junior high band and eventually became a lifeguard at the Fairview Park pool.

Robbie was married to John Blystone, her Dillingham Jr. High School, Sherman High School & Austin College classmate. Robbie graduated in 1973 from Austin College with a degree in Biology.

Robbie & John started dating during her senior year of college and in December of '72 Robbie and John married. Because Robbie had worked part-time at the Wilson N. Jones Hospital as a laboratory assistant during high school and college, she was interested in pursuing a professional degree/certification as a Medical Technologist. After graduating from Austin College, Robbie applied to and was accepted into the Baylor University School of Medicine's School of Medical Technology in Dallas. After graduation in '75 and passing the State Board Exam (ASCP), Robbie worked in various hospital laboratories in Texas before she and John returned to Sherman in '78 where she first worked at the Texoma Regional Blood Bank.

In late '79, she gave birth to the couple's first son, Matthew Scott and 22 months later a second son, John David was born. Robbie finished her 30-year MT career at Texoma Medical Center laboratory that she loved so much. Her chosen profession fit her to the T because she was such a people person that loved people interaction. Occasionally, her husband would tease her and tell her friends, "don't ask her what time is it, unless you want to hear her tell you how to build a watch"! She was so looking forward to retirement so she could offer her servant spirit to people she knew and didn't know as well as greater involvement within her church. Robbie is survived by her husband, John of Sherman, sons Matthew Scott and wife Allissa, grandson Bennett, granddaughter Violet of Huntington Beach, Ca. and son John David and wife Brittany of Celina, TX.

John would like to thank the many friends and family for their love, support and prayers through Robbie's journey. Also, a heartfelt thank you to the Home Instead caregivers that were life savers to John before Robbie's eventual transfer to a memory care facility in 2020.

Cremation arrangements are being handled by Waldo Funeral Home. No funeral plans are scheduled.
