IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Robert F.
Jackson
July 20, 1939 – October 8, 2023
Mr. Robert Franklin Jackson made his entrance into this world on July 20, 1939, in Denison, TX, the first born child of Edward and Mattie Jackson. He graduated from Terrell High School in 1957 where he received college scholarship offers and interest in the 1957 baseball draft. He turned both offers down for the love of his life, the late, Ruby Lee Jackson. They were married for 49 years and with this union came 6 girls. He loved his wife, and they went everywhere together.
Robert supported his family by working at Fun Time Ice where he was a truck driver delivering ice. He was often called 'Ice Man.' After 47 years on the job, Robert retired. He loved the Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers. Robert also enjoyed being outside in the heat. He loved to eat fried chicken, summer sausage, hogshead cheese, block cheese, hot tamales, and the red, white, & blue bomb pops. For the holidays, he loved recording his family so that he could have those precious memories.
Robert's best friend was Gerald Corbray. They were friends for years. When Gerald came into town, he would always visit and when he left, he always stayed in touch with Robert. Gerald was more than a friend, Robert thought of him as family.
Robert was a quiet man, but very blunt, often making everyone laugh from the things he would say. He was a family man first. He took pride in raising and providing for his girls and wife. Robert also took on the responsibility of helping his wife raise her sisters and brothers.
Robert departed this life on Sunday, October 8, 2023. He was proceeded in death by his parents, Edward and Mattie Jackson, wife, Ruby Lee Jackson, five siblings, brother Charles Jackson, Ronald Jackson and Richard Jackson, sisters, Loice Jackson-Cobb and Betty Jackson, two great great grandchildren, Desmond Jackson and Everette Jackson.
Robert leaves to cherish his loving memory to his daughters; Sandra Kay Jackson-Perkins of Denison, TX, Roberta Patterson and husband Lopez of Colbert, OK, Ruby Faye Jackson-Scruggs (Ronald), of Denison TX, Ivery Renae Jackson (Bill), of Denison TX, Teresa Jackson (Trudell) of Denison, TX, Wynona Jackson (Joe) of Sherman TX, his brother; Dale Jackson of Denison, TX, and sister; Patricia Jackson-Kincy and husband Theodis of Wichita, KS, 12 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, 11 great great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
