Obituary

Robert Wayne Moore was called home to be with his Savior on his 82nd birthday, June 13, 2024.  He was a Christian, a Veteran, a Lutheran, and a loving husband, dad, and PawPaw.

Bob was born in Sherman to his parents J.D. and Uel (Ducky). He was raised in Denison, Texas and later moved to Gunter, where he graduated from high school along with his high school sweetheart, Carol Webb.  Bob and Carol married on November 8, 1963 and were married for almost 59 wonderful years.  They were blessed with their daughter, Kimberly Ann, who was their pride and joy.  Kim and her husband, Justin Wright, blessed Bob and Carol with their one granddaughter, Kaitlyn Grace, who loved her PawPaw and Nana more than anything.

Bob enlisted in the Army in 1965 and went to basic training at South Fort Polk, Louisiana.  He then reported to Fort Bliss for Advanced Individual Training (AIT).  Bob then received orders that he would be shipping out to Germany, where he trained in Armor, Artillery, and Infantry.  Carol was able to join him in Germany. After two years of serving in Germany, Bob was transferred to Homestead AFB in Homestead, Florida, where he finished out his Armed Forces career.

Bob was a hard worker and wanted to provide for his family, which was always his first priority. He worked at Line Materials for about 10 years as a lab tech and then was a Foreman/Supervisor at Anderson Clayton where he was quickly promoted to Supervisor of the Waste Water/Hydrogen Gas Plant.  Bob then started work at Folger Coffee Company and retired from the Sunny Delight plant in 1999.

Bob is survived by his daughter, Kim, granddaughter Kaitlyn, and son-in-law, Justin Wright; brothers Rick Moore and wife Carol and Donald Moore and wife Debbie from California; his Aunt Polly Moore; sister in law Cheri Webb, niece Dana Martinez, her husband Justin, their four children Delaney, Carson, Macy, and Samuel; his cousin Janet Copeland, her husband Glenn, and their three children Clay, Shelby, and Scott, and their spouses along with their 10 grandchildren; his beloved dog, Princess, along with a host of friends that he has met along the way because Bob never met a stranger.  If you knew Bob, you loved Bob!

Bob was preceded in death by his parents and his dear wife, Carol.

Visitation for friends and family will be held at Waldo Funeral Home on Monday, June 17 from 1:00-2:00 PM. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM Monday at Waldo Funeral Home with graveside services immediately following at West Hill Cemetery in Sherman, Texas. The register book can be signed online at waldofuneralhome.com.

Bob will be dearly missed by his daughter and granddaughter, the apples of his eyes.  I love you dad.
