Roger Keith Flexer born 10-1-1938 in Emmaus, Pa to Harold Flexer and Esther Neimeyer. Roger passed away peacefully in his home Tuesday, March 3, 2026, surrounded by his wife and two daughters.
Roger graduated High School in PA and then enlisted in the United States Air Force and was soon deployed to Japan. After a year serving in Japan, Roger moved to Sherman, TX and was stationed at Perrin Air Force Base where he met the love of his life, Lena Flexer. Roger and Lena soon got married on December 20th 1958 and were married 67 years. During Roger's time in the service, he and Lena had three daughters and moved to multiple states. Roger retired after serving 20 years in the Air Force.
After retirement, Roger and Lena moved back to Sherman, TX where he was a man of many trades, including vending companies, banking, glass manufacturing, and owning a retail store for 20 years with his wife.
While loving and serving his country Roger's greatest joy was in watching his grandkids and great-grandkids. He also loved traveling with his wife and family and made wonderful memories on their beach vacations.
Roger is proceeded in death by his Mother, Father and eight siblings and daughter Carol Flexer. He is survived by his wife Lena Flexer; two daughters Janet Harvey and Doris Rome of Mckinney TX; four grandkids, Katie and Cory Goodman of Anna TX, Matt and Jentry Rome of Houston TX, Joseph and Cici Harvey of Dallas TX, and Drew and Ashley Rome of Lewisville TX; five great-grandkids, Clayton, Paige and Olivia Goodman, Blair Rome and Rylee Rome.
In lieu of flowers, Donations can be made to Disabled American Veterans.
The family is having a private celebration of life. They have opened their home from Thursday March 5th through Saturday March 7th for anyone that would like to pay their respects.
