Obituary

Rosalind R. Baker, of Denison, TX, went to be with the Lord on May 22, 2025, peacefully after an
extended illness.

Rosalind was born March 20th, 1950. in New York, New York. She was raised in Denison by William
(Son) and Elzona Baker who both preceded her in death. Roz as she was often called by her family
and friends was sister, aunt and beloved friend to many.

She attended St Xaiver Catholic School, Terrell High School, and Denison High School. She
graduated from Grayson Junior College in 1970 with her Associates of Business Administration. She
then attended the University of Texas at Arlington, graduating in 1972 with a Bachelor of Business
Administration in Accounting. She finished her studies after attending the University of Houston
where she graduated in 1980 with her Master of Accounting.

Durning her academic career she was a member of the Phi Theta Kappa, the National Outstanding
Phi Theta Kappan, National Association of Black Accountants, American Society of Women
Accountants, American Institute of CPA's, Texas Society of CPAs of Houston and the Volunteers in
Techers Assistance organizations.

She had a career path as a CPA in which after college she worked as a Professor and Head of the
Accounting Department at Prairie View A& M University. She later took several CPA positions in the
Houston, New York and Dallas areas before she retired in the early 2000's upon which she returned
to her hometown of Denison.

She attended New Beginnings Fellowship in Denison and loved the Lord dearly. She also loved arts,
crafts, and home decorations. Her favorite color was red as she was also a member of the Red Hat
Lady's organization for several years.

She leaves to cherish her memory, a brother Thomas Baker of Auroa, CO., a sister Glowilla Dean
Geisenhoff (Marcus) of Garland, TX, nephew Desmond D. Baker (Crystal) of Sherman, TX, nephew
Antonio A Dean of Brazoria, TX, and her Life-long Best Friend Tana Potts-Ross of Denison, TX as well
as a host of other family and friends.

A public visitation will be Friday, May 30th from 1P.M. to 4 P.M. at Waldo Funeral Home 619 N, Travis
St. Sherman, TX 75090. Flowers can be sent, or in lieu of flowers, the family request donation be
made directly to the funeral home in c/o Rosalind Baker.

Burial will be private.

The family would like to thank the staff at Texoma Medial Center and the staff at Beacon Hill of
Denison for your care and compassion of our beloved love one. .
