Sherman- Funeral services for Rose Theresa Hart will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday October 4 at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Meriden, Connecticut. Burial will follow in the Sacred Heart Cemetery under the direction of John J. Ferry and Sons Funeral Home. Mrs. Hart passed away Monday, October 1 in her home at the Renaissance in Sherman. Local arrangements are under the direction of Waldo Funeral Home.
Rose was born on July 15, 1916 in Meriden, CT to the late Joseph and Mary (Galys) Liber. She graduated from Meriden High School and later the Meriden Hospital School of Nursing in 1939. Rose married C. Taylor Hart on March 16, 1942 in Meriden. They lived in Connecticut, Florida, Hawaii, New York, Virginia, and Texas. She and Taylor were married 58 years until his death in March 2000. Rose moved to Sherman in 2003.
Mrs. Hart was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church, where she was active in the Columbian ladies, the Legion of Mary, and the St. Mary's Renew Group. Rose also held membership in the Catholic Daughters, Al Hambra of Dallas, the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulcher, and the Red Hat Society. Rose was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was loved by many friends and will be missed by all.
Mrs. Hart is survived by three daughters, Maureen Welsh and husband Paul of Apple Valley, MN, Kathleen Brown and husband Richard of McKinney, TX, and Mary Callahan and husband Kip of Sherman, TX; two sons, Charles Hart, Jr. of Sherman and Thomas Hart and his wife Linda of Cherry Hill, NJ; six grandchildren; Michael Welsh, Anne Robinson, Shannon McCormick, Marissa Hart, Katherine Brown, and Mary Jane Callahan; and six great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brothers, Ben and Walter Liber, and one brother-in-law, Chester Janiga.
