Ruby Berg, age 79, of Honey Grove, Texas, passed away on Saturday, December 7, 2024, in Sherman, Texas. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and retired educator, Ruby enriched the lives of all who knew her.

Born on December 15, 1944, to John Pharr and Ruby Sagely Pharr, Ruby grew up in Edhube, Texas, before settling in Honey Grove. She held a deep love for her family and found immense joy in life's simple pleasures, especially spending time outdoors under the pecan trees at her home. Ruby's happiest moments were those spent playing with her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren, creating cherished memories they will carry forward.

A passionate and dedicated educator, Ruby spent her career teaching high school mathematics, leaving a lasting impression on countless students. She retired from Wolfe City ISD, proud of the impact she made throughout her years of service.

Ruby was preceded in death by her parents, John and Ruby Pharr; her brothers, Ples Calvin, Howard Eugene, and David Lee (fondly known as Buster); and her sister, Mary Louise.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Douglas Berg; her son, Michael, and his wife, Cindy; her grandchildren, Luke and his wife, Ashley, Danielle and her husband, Cody, and Preston; and her great-grandchildren, Tinley, Abigail, and Swayze.

Funeral services will be held at Waldo Funeral Home on Friday, December 13, 2024, at 2:00 p.m., with visitation beginning at 1:00 p.m. prior to the service. Ruby will be laid to rest at Hampton Cemetery in Edhube, Texas.

Ruby's kindness, love, and dedication to her family and community will forever be remembered. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
