Sam Morales entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, April 27th, 2021. Sam was born on April 15, 1930 to parents Cecil O. Morales and Frances Alvarado Morales.
Sam grew up in Sherman, Texas. He married the love of his life Helen Vinson on June 3, 1966 and enjoyed 51 years together. He was drafted into the US Army, serving during the Korean War at Camp Carson, CO for 2 years. In his spare time Sam's hobbies included working on electronics, hosting and singing karaoke with family and friends, and teaching Spanish and English to community members. He was an active member of West Sherman Baptist Church, and a faithful member of Church of The Divine Savior.
Sam leaves behind those in his memory his son, Sammy Morales (Taco) of Sherman; sisters Genoveva Cunningham, Frances Carolan, and Jaunita Carr and brother Manuel Morales. Grandaughters Brandy Johnson (Brett) of Bonaire, GA, Courtney Giles (Robbie) of Durant, OK, and grandson Shawn Morales (Amber) of Durant, OK. Great-grandchildren Cambri, Bentley, Dierks, and Remi. Sam is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Sam also leaves behind his beloved Miss Kitty.
Sam is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Helen Morales, his parents Cecil and Frances Morales, brothers Daniel Morales and Cecil Morales Jr., sisters Rachel Aguilar, Phebe Quick, Helen Slaughter, and Esther Cervantes.
The family will receive friends on Friday, April 30, from 6-8 pm at Waldo Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 10 am on Saturday, May 1, at Waldo Funeral Chapel with Rev Juanita Carr and David Roman officiating. Committal services will follow at Cedarlawn Memorial Park with Shawn Morales, Brett Johnson, Michael Dollar Jr., Butchie Jr. Morales, Joseph Winkler, and Miguel Segura serving as pallbearers.
