My Earthly Journey
Sharon "Chick" Patterson Huey, age 57 of Colbert, OK, ascended to her eternal home on Thursday, February 12th at home following an extended illness.
Sharon, affectionately called "Chick", was born to the union of the late Ludesta Turner Patterson, and Marshall F. Patterson, Sr. She was the youngest of 14 children. Sharon joined Hopewell Baptist Church at an early age under the leadership of the late Reverend E.D. Fields. She was a member of the Hopewell Choir.
Sharon graduated from Colbert High School and attended Connors State College on a basketball scholarship. Upon leaving Connors, she returned home to work faithfully for 28 years for Colbert Public Schools.
Sharon was truly loved by her Principal, Ms. Carlton, students and staff at Eastward. The students called her "Ms. Chick". She was known for her big smile, kind heart, and giving spirit. Sharon loved children and would mother and nurture great nephews; her last "claimed child" was Cameron, grandson of brother Calvin. Cameron also called her "Ms. Chick".
Sharon was a wife, sister, aunt, and friend. She was preceded in death by both parents, three brothers Freddy Lynn Patterson, Chris Patterson, and Marshall "Doc" Patterson, Jr., and one sister Theresa Blanton.
She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Choyce Huey, sisters, Serlina White, Teresa Washington (James), Georgiana Malone, brothers, Larry Brown, Terry Taylor, Ronnie Wimbish (Subrena), Timouthy Babcock (Lisa), Howard Patterson, Henry Patterson (Roberta), Alvin Patterson, Calvin Patterson (Atura), Chung Wimbish (Monica), Jerry Blanton (Kathy), Michael Blanton (Tina), and a host of beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A public visitation will be held Friday, February 20th, from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm, at Waldo Funeral Home in Sherman, TX.
The funeral service will be held Saturday, February 21st, at 1:00 pm, in the Colbert High School Auditorium, in Colbert, OK. Officiating will be Rev. Timothy Robinson. Burial will be at Colbert Eastside Cemetery.
